Job Description
This software engineering position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining important Fraud Detection and Prevention product features that are focused on service availability, performance, and scalability. The position requires a high level of engineering expertise, as well as some practical experience or at the very least a solid conceptual knowledge of designing and managing large-scale applications and services on the internet.
We are continuously searching for strong technicians that are passionate about solving large-scale, very complicated computer engineering challenges in a repeatable and maintainable manner to assist us with this. You will work directly with our Product Owners and Domain Technical Leads to design exceptional solutions and deliver incredible products as a member of our team.
Responsibilities
- This is an individual contributor role that entirely owns a key platform enabling the success and productivity of all PayPal developers and the business.
- Develop a deep emotional and technical understanding of the pains and challenges in the developer community and be their number one champion in driving continuous improvement.
- Own the vision of the developer platform, including key capabilities that provide step-change impact on the overall developer experience.
- Establish a strong network of platform contributors across all PayPal brands and groups and support them in their engagement and rollout of key developer services.
- Embrace and lead an Agile team of highly engaged engineers through transparency, trust, collaboration, and humility.
- Bring a strong industry perspective that can help shape and evolve the internal PayPal developer experience to be as good as or better than public cloud offerings.
Eligibilities
- 8+ years of product management experience owning a product roadmap and successfully bringing highly technical, platform products to market.
- Personal experience as a developer, including a well-informed opinion of the developer mindset and what’s most important to their success.
- Very high EQ and ability to empathize and communicate with customers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Track record of relentless customer development.
- Fearless leader able to constructively advance opinionated perspective, well-informed by industry and customer analysis, to all levels of organization.
- Good understanding and well-informed opinion of public cloud product offerings.
- Ability to think and communicate at multiple levels, from conceptual product architecture to minute implementation details at the same time.
