As a Customer Engineer, you’ll assist Cloud customers in becoming more productive, mobile, and collaborative. You’ll help others by resolving major technical challenges for our customers, and you’ll collaborate with the Product Marketing Management and Engineering teams to keep on top of industry trends and develop Google Cloud product innovations.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with small and medium-sized business (SMB) and Sales Development to explore opportunities from the technical perspective and collaboratively qualify opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include such activities as managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight Google Cloud value proposition using techniques to include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and documents.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
Eligibilities
  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Experience serving in the capacity of a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
    • Experience with cloud computing concepts (e.g., Big Data, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies).
    • Experience with presenting and delivering technical pitches.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with WAN/Internet-related technologies and architectures across SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and cloud productivity suites.
    • Experience with the architecture and operational aspects of large-scale distributed systems and with technologies in the machine learning/big data ecosystem (e.g., TensorFlow, Spark).
    • Experience using and/or managing databases (e.g., MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Flume, Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, and/or BigQuery).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
